Norwegian Forest Cats
Pan's Truls, one of the foundation Norwegian Forest Cats Norwegian Forest Cats, " Wegies " to their friends, are large semi-longhaired felines that originate in the forests of Scandinavia. They're very robust gregarious creatures which supposedly are still capable of surviving in the wild without human help (though of course we're not tempted (yet) to put this to the test). They require very little grooming beyond a nice pat once or ten times a day (which when in the cat is in the mood you will find hard not to do if you value your life), otherwise a once-a-week brushing will keep them in order.

Because this breed is still a natural breed and has not been subjected to the repeated close in-breeding of other breeds very few breed-specific genetic problems exist and so combined with their natural roots in the cold climate of Scandinavia this breed is a healthy hardy breed.
